About

My name is Yuri, writing here under the moniker Cynic. I am 50 years old, with 15+ years in digital marketing and web analytics — the last decade specifically within the travel and airline industries.

Over the years, I’ve built and analyzed countless performance reports, corporate strategies, and multi-channel attribution models. I’ve sat through hundreds of meetings, looked at endless graphs, and watched businesses repeatedly find clever ways to deceive themselves with their own data.

What this site is not:
This blog is not an agency storefront, nor is it a platform to pitch services. I don’t collect leads for consultations, I don’t sell courses, and I have zero interest in teaching anyone how to run their business.

These are simply observations and post-mortems — written partly because I enjoy documenting patterns, and partly because I occasionally re-read them myself.

You won't find generic guides on "Five Steps to Scale Your Startup" or sanitized agency posts designed to satisfy a content calendar.

Instead, I focus on:

  • How things actually work under the hood. What hides behind automated bidding, attribution models, and vendor promises.
  • Unit economics over vanity metrics. Cutting through inflated dashboards to see the real cost of acquisition.
  • Corporate reality & human bias. Observations on how teams make decisions when they think no one is watching the data.

No algorithms. No buzzwords. Just notes from the field.
